Favorite Trips of 2010: Part 2

Shoreline of Pagbilao's Hidden Treasure

6. Pagbilao, Quezon. A private secluded beach. I loved the quaintness of the place. I enjoyed spending almost 2 hours swimming in the beach as it rained and shined and rained again. The people I travelled with made this trip much more memorable.

the rocky hills of Capones

5. Zambales. Anawangin is overrated. Nagsasa is so-so. But Capones floored me. I dig this island. I loved the rocky hills. I loved traversing the rough shorelines to get to the lighthouse. The island is not that picturesque but I find it very enchanting.

Shooting at Boracay Station 1

4. Boracay. Most of my trips are usually tiring and have a schedule to follow. This trip with the epaktors had none. It was very relaxing and worry-free. I guess it helped we stayed on one of the resorts in Station 1, away from the hustles and bustles of night parties. We enjoyed it so much we plan to return next year.

After a day's work in Coron

3. Coron. Banol Beach. Barracuda Lake. Kayangan Lake. Maquinit Hot Spring. Mt. Tapyas. Crystal clear waters. Limestones. Picturesque islands. Amazong corals and schools of fish. I particularly like that Coron has no fastfood chains and leave visitors with no choice but to dine in locally-owned restaurants.

paradise in calaguas

2. Calaguas. No beach that I have visited so far can compare to the Mahabang Buhangin Beach in Calaguas. It is simply stunning. That is not an exaggeration. I will definitely pay this a second visit in the summer.

Power stirring in Davao

1. Davao. Davao is not a very picturesque city. But they make up to it by way of adventures. The most memorable was the white water rafting experience with River One Adventure. The slide and platform dive into the ocean at Maxima in Samal Island were an added bonus.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you, my friend. Nice pictures of Pagbilao. It’s been almost 30 years since I was last there. It was a very beautiful place then and judging from your pictures, it must be a lovelier place now. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Out of the country naman next year! Hehe sana makapunta din ako ng Coron at Calaguas.

sometimes the company makes the travel even more worthwhile than the destination itself

The only place I don’t mind going to in your list here is Boracay. Probably because its closer to home. So, it’s easy to go to if I’m in Iloilo. I remember when I was a kid (1988), the roads back then were treacherous and almost took us 5 hours to get there.
